Loving the ECO mode - seems give that extra bit of MPG saving we all need....

Does anyone know if it would affect DPF regen cycles - ie you are in ECO mode - will it skip fuel dump until next 500 miles etc....

Having said this not noticed any regens happen in the 4k I covered so far

Don't think so as it only appears to lower the power so regen should continue

guys

eco mode its and electronic adjustment that the system does it in the ecu (the brain of the engine)

to get better and more economic mixture of fuel (its tweaking a little bit with the engine brain)

thus resulting in less CO2 being released in the atmosphere

of course theres a downside and that is a bit of loosing pulling power from the engine

its very good for driving in the city or cruising along

if u wanna be a sporty  driver in ur dacia switch the system off to default and u get the best from ur engine

its not magic and it has nothing  to do (does not affect in anyway) the DPF filter or regeneration or the turbo or the EGR valve  ;)

I love using ECO mode.  Can get about 85mpg on a long road in 5th gear using it.

I tend to drive around constantly in ECO and only switch it off when I am feeling sporty.

I switched to ECO after 1 day but until I do my MPG checks don't know the effect. I do a 50 mile round trip to work, about 20 on motorway/dual carriageway the rest on city roads so it'll be interesting to see how it compares with my Panda 1.1 which gives me 40-42 MPG (my 1.2 Panda gave 44-46MPG).

i thought the car only gave 70 MPG if you drove safe and used eco mode. so the eco mode does give you more MPG than Stated???

thanks in advance.

The thing with MPG is its one thing if the trip computer is reporting as 85 MPG for that one stretch but on other threads - others are stating stupidly high MPG for coasting downhill in neutral.

Different ball game is average for one week and of course depends on inviduals type of journey mine is motorways mixed with B roads and yup already start of school traffic is making my MPG drop.

PS Think I definitely had a regen yesterday with ECO mode on - very bad egg/

Sulphurous kind of smell lasted about 5 minutes
