We have all had experiences of inconsiderate and just plain bad parking in a car park so I thought I would create a space for you to vent and post pics or just have a rant.

This space is for anyone who wants to rant about bad parking or post pics of bad car parks.  Spaces are getting smaller and car park planning seems to be done by a 3 year old these days.

Please don't use this as an excuse to have a go at the opposite sex and remember that there are bad drivers and inconsiderate people on both sides of the Mars and Venus divide.

Enjoy

I was parked up at a service station having my 45 minute break in my truck when I watched another truck driver pull up across six parked up wagons get out lock it up and leave.  When he meandered back 30 minutes later there were three drivers waiting to have a quiet word with him in the dark!!

You take you time, park within the lines giving enough room either side of your car and then someone comes in and parks after you and does this............

My local Aldi has two car parks. One is level and the other is both sloping and terraced! It is virtually impossible to get into the sloping spaces as the rows are too close together and the spaces are too narrow.

Then when you are trying to unload your trolley you need at least three arms to stop the trolley rolling down the hill as you lift out your shopping.

So I always used to park on the level car park however they recently repainted it with wide spaces and marked them all Disabled or "Parent and Child".

The "parent and child" spaces are almost all empty at the times I visit, and as I don't believe there is any law against using them, I now have wider spaces to park in.

I'm all for women having larger parking spaces in order to protect the rest of us in car parks.........

It's us men's fault as we try and convince them that 6cm is 6"....... Their perspective of distance/size is therefore all to pot because of us men!

Geraint, why not come join us in the modern world instead of being stick in the 1980s? Women can drive as well if not better than men. The EU even had to pass laws to stop insurance companies charging men more because they have more accidents.

Frauenparkplatze or Damenparkplatz  (Women's parking places) are common in Northern European, especially German speaking, and Asian Countries. They have nothing to do with bad driving.

Its more to do with women being attacked and sexually assaulted by MEN. (Something that almost never happens the other way round).

Studies have shown that many women feel unsafe in places such as underground and large car parks.  This restricts their freedom of movement itself: being threatened or harassed out of fear, many women avoid certain areas, particularly in the evening and night hours.

So the creation of reserved women-only spaces, near the exit, in well lit areas or near to cameras, increases their sense of security and gives them more freedom and mobility.

That's the trouble with jokes that pick on people's gender, they are sexist. In many ways casual sexism, racism etc. are worse than more blatant forms.

Ahh you see Chris, sexism at its best, protect the women, give them easier parking spaces, forget that us men sometimes cant park in a narrow spot, quite often get the 5#1t kicked out of us, ( yes I ended up in hospital from getting bashed, I wasnt envvolved, wrong place wrong time shit happens). as soon as we try (yes try) and have a joke and make light of something, someone has to get all upsett. Jeez.
Me personnaly have had more dings than my missus. I would let her drive my car anytime, etc etc. And yes im all for equality. She can have half my debts any time....,hehe

Obviously they are there because women who have given birth are unable to maneuver a car. I tend to go to Aldi just before they close, when children should be in bed,.

Supermarket carpark + private company issuing a parking fine? ignore it, it's unenforceable.

Must admit I have often wondered the same thing as a private company has no legal authority.

Now now, all of you cut it out, shuuush shuuush, zip it, stop, aah ah shuuush.

I would like to point out how I started this thread.  Its to have a pop at bad drivers.  The sex of the driver does not matter.

So come on people moan about the driving and don't make it personal and everyone will be happy..... apart from the people and car parks that we are highlighting that is :D

A private parking "fine" is just an invoice however, as I understand it from what I can remember from when I studied law, if there is a sign at the car park entrance detailing charges, and you choose to park there you have entered into a contract with the car park operators whereby they provide you with a parking place, and you agree to pay the charges. If you don't pay you would be in breach of contract and that could be enforced in the court just as if you got a hair-cut and refused to pay, or had your car serviced and then refused to pay.

Signs located after the entrance have no effect as the contact comes into effect when you enter the car park.
