At the end of last week Dacia Duster owners met in Bran where they tested once again their personal skills as well as the abilities of their 4×4 cars.
The sixth edition of the Club Duster Association Reunion was held in Bran in the week-end 14-16 February and brought together more than 90 fans of the brand coming from all over the country aboard 40 Dacia Duster vehicles.
The chairman of Dacia, Nicolas Maure, and the director of Renault Commercial Roumanie, Thomas Dubruel were also present alongside the fans of this beacon model of the Dacia range.
The members of Duster 4×4 Everyone club were special guests of the event, as in the case of all other events organised by the association; this club consists of employees of Renault România group who compete with Dacia Duster cars in national and international off-road contests.
The participants, alongside tourists or local people, enjoyed the 40 vehicle caravan which travelled from Bran to Poiana Braşov; this was a good opportunity to admire two special Dacia Duster vehicles modified by the engineering teams of Renault Technologie Roumanie – Duster Army and Duster Buster – as well as a Duster car equipped with the main accessories in the Dacia offer.
The core attraction of the event consisted of the off-road competitions organised in two stages: standard category (male and female) and the category of vehicles equipped with special tyres.
In the standard category participants had to cover, against the clock, a bumpy route with water and mud sectors here and there. A special contest was organised for lady owners of Duster cars, many of whom were attending for the first time such a competition.
Participants with vehicles equipped with special tyres (AT/MT) challenged their cars on a much more difficult route, where both the vehicle’s equipment and the driver’s experience were important for coping with deep trenches and steep slopes.
Winners were awarded prizes offered by Dacia and other event partners.
“I was delighted to participate in this reunion. It is fascinating to see how Duster owners love their cars and what they can do off-road, even with the 4×2 version. I am also owner of a Duster I purchased in 2011, which I am very proud of”, mentioned Nicolas Maure after the event.
Thomas Dubruel also shared the enthusiasm of the fans present at the event, and added that “Duster is not only a market success but also a model which excites our clients’ passion and pride. The reunions of “Dusterists”, which have already become a tradition, deliver a message of trust in the Dacia brand which of course rejoices us”.
