Dacia Expands Production Of Sandero To Morocco

6th June 2014 by Nick 14 Comments

Dacia Sandero on the production line

Dacia Sandero production is expanding

Dacia also estimates a decrease in production of 20,000 – 30,000 cars in 2014 compared to the previous year, due to moving part of Sandero production to the Renault plant in Morocco.

After the record of almost 343,000 cars produced in 2013, Dacia estimates a production of 310,000 – 320,000 units this year, according to Nicolas Maure, general manager of Dacia, cited by local Agerpres.

He said the production in 2014 will be influenced by market developments, marked by a great competition, both in terms of competitors as well as the internal competition within the Renault group, with the plant in Morocco.

The Dacia plant in Mioveni, near Pitesti, Romania, produces Logan, Logan MCV, Sandero, Sandero Stepway, Duster and Renault Symbol models, while the plant in Morocco produces Sandero, Dokker, Dokker Van and Lodgy.

Might be to make space for the production of the RHD duster to move from India to Romania for our 2016 model! You heard it here first πŸ˜‰

Lets hope so. Without the Indians making it, do you think the rust problems will be a thing of the past?

ABSOLUTELY – the duster’s issue is because the lack of skills and poor QC in india. There are no reported issues with LHD dusters built in Romania!

That fails to explain why we have rusty Sandero’s that have been built in Romania!

it’s not a tiny market – dacia sales in the uk are huge, they made a mistake not producing the duster for us in romania to begin with. now they know the cars will sell and they’ve tested the market, that will give them confidence to make the move – only time will tell

in Romania the factory is at 200%
to increase production it means building a new facility here
the cost its huge since they just build a new one in Morocco

but in Morocco they dont have yet at least a rhd line build just lhd
and in india they dont have a rhd line for the new model just the old logan which is also market it as mahindra

i hope now most of u will understand why!!!!!

    its all about the money
