C B on 2015-04-19 01:05:08 EditIt has been likened to a slightly elderly relative by the kids - hence the name. Well loved and gentle. Not exactly flash but a cracking motor. Economical to run. Has all the right junk in all the right places. Would buy another no question. Have first warranty issue so see how it goes with dealership. Customer service is a big thing...

bravaeddie on 2015-04-12 17:41:00 EditHi
Had my Logan MCV 1.5dci just over a month now. What a great car. It's comfortable ,roomy and very economical. The first thing I noticed was how high the gearing is. Driving about town at 30mph is 3rd
gear only.If you change into 4th it vibrates and the gear indicator light comes on telling you to change down. Get on the motorway and this is where it comes into it's own. Cruising at 70mph in 5th at 2000rpm. Filled the tank up when I first got the car. Have now done just over 500 miles, and still got a 1/4 tank left. Space in the back is fantastic with the rear seats up. Put them down and it's
cavernous . Already come in handy as my daughter was moving house. Dad can you get the bed in your car.Of course and the mattress .All in all well pleased with my Logan and hope it gives many years of reliable serviceRating: 44 /5 stars- How It DrivesUser: 83%

Andrew Griffin on 2015-03-12 15:54:01 EditOnly had the car for 10 days and have to say I'm impressed. It is a brand new car but it fits me so well and feels like an old friend. Just one small bugbear... I drive with my window open a few inches and have found a lot of water comes in through it when it rains.

joe bristow on 2015-03-07 20:40:58 Editdacia logan mcv ambiance 1.5 dci 5dr bought new and am very impressed with it so far. yes no bells and whistles of some car but price was and important factor and does what i want of it and much more. Running costs low , load of space nice to drive and of course a great price. Had to get rid of one vechicle in the household i had a peugeot partner van and the wife had a citreon C1 ( which was a truly shock car water pump and clutch went at 18000 leaked water everywere lock wore out in 25000miles and was just so poorly made it was just falling apart) so decided to give the Logan a go and do not regret it for a minute. Couple of things that do annoy the relay clicking on wippers, fuel pump buzing and wish the vent on front windscreen went the full lenght of the dash, but that's just me being pickey.
Well done Dacia i think you have hit the nail on the head with the current range of modelsRating: 55 /5 stars- How It DrivesUser: 41%

Martin Clare on 2015-02-05 15:42:04 EditAt the end of 2014 my family were coping with a difficult decision. Our ailing father was finding life harder than before and we needed space to transport him and his wheelchair, scooter et al back and to to hospital.
We therefore needed to replace the small Suzuki Alto that my wife had been using up to then.
I decided that I would donate my 2 year old Kia Venga 1.4 diesel people carrier to her cause, while also replacing the Suzuki for something that could act as a more acceptable company car that I regularly needed for my employment.
I purchased the cinder red Logan MCV at the end of January, a demonstrator vehicle that had a few thousand miles and was well run in. At the time of this review I have driven the Logan MCV a thousand miles, on country road , motorway and town , (which is my normal mode), in heavy traffic.
Immediately on sitting in the car at the dealer I was pleasantly surprised by what I experienced. I had been used to the plastic interiors of the Suzuki, and to some extent of the fairly new KIa, (which is one of their latest offerings from the new Slovakia plant and is a very nicely finished car) but the interior plastics didn't strike me as needing to be touched to prove their quality, they had a nice deeper grained surface finish/patina, and although harder on doors they came across with the thought of this is being rather a nice place to be rather than what am I missing, can I live without the thought of not being touchy feely soft ( which I think is an overly hyped perception pushed by the motoring press.)
The seats were like my previous Renault Laguna of the past, softer in a French way, but very very comfortable, maybe a tiny bit short in the squab, - but that is normal for my shape. being average height , but broad in the frame. Certaily better than the Suzuki offerings that were flat and unsupportive, and more supportive than my Kia.
Driving the car for the first time I wondered if the 0.9Tce engine would be as difficult to control as some reviews on this forum would make out- but after the test drive I was again left feeling that was a non issue, surprisingly good even for such a tiny engine. In fact the low down power available from 1500 revs shouldnt be possible in 4th . My 1400 diesel Venga struggles in such circumstances, and a previous 1300 FIat Multijet was out of it until it had 1750 revs were on the clock.
I was in no doubt that the car was a real motor, not some tin toy that I think potential buyers are maybe uneasy to take the chance on. Having checked over the rest of the exterior I paid my money and drove home the 60 miles with my wife in pursuit in my Venga.
The drive home was an event as again the words pleasant were in my mind, not startling, but I was obviously not mentally prepared for the car to be as good as it was. It was smoother than my Venga, which I have enjoyed for the last couple of years, and I have regular use of a fleet of company cars, that included the usual taughtly handling Focus and similar feeling softer riding French Citroens.
The car is clearly of the French handling and riding school, but Im not complaining as it was miles better than I expected. The handling even coped, on the country bends hanging on in corners when I thought it would have understeered.
Interesting to see the TopGear web sites track test of the Sandero - which confirms the abilities and also the robust nature of the design.
After a few weeks of driving, the car is proving easy to own, starting 1st time in the Icy sub zero mornings.
The boot space is a revelation, I once owned a series 2 Fiat Croma with a great 1.9 Multijet Diesel engine, which is a mega sized car, nearly 5 meteres long , with a big boot But I never remember going around wondering how I was going to use it all. like now.
I have to admit I miss the boot opening button, and using the key to open can be inconvenient, although you just have to remember to use the internal release lever.
Motorway use is no issue, and it runs nice and straight. In the recent heavy winds, I expected to have to hold on tight , during cross winds over our nearby flyover motorway stretch, but the car wasn't too bad. Its a competent car that can do the miles and easily.
I was impressed to find the reviews on the German website gave the car similar decent response, and it finished top of the sub 10000 euro car offerings.
The link below loads in German but if you use Google Chrome , it will auto translate into English.

I hope the next year continues the first impressions.
As for me Im not a first time car buyer. I used to run minis in sprint events when studying engineering at university 20 years ago, and I know a bit about the internal engine, having renovated a few classics. I'm also a chartered engineer who maybe should spend a bit more on my cars , as I can, but status isn't about badges to me , an engineer sees what is fit for real purpose and brand snobbery doesnt ad anything to function or reliability, only sales and the important corporate bottom line.
As for worries about future trade in value, well thats already offset by the paid out value.
As far as I can perceive so far, for the money this car is certainly difficult to ignore, and especially good value.

carl on 2015-01-17 19:32:02 EditHaving traded in a BMW 1 series, I knew the Logan would not be as good, due to it bring over half the price, yet I have been really impressed with how good it is. Its very comfortable with smooth suspension. Opted for the 0.9tce petrol engine, very willing engine even in eco mode. Had optional extras fitted, front centre arm rest, rear electrics and the media nav, which is fantastic. Great sat nav, phone connects every time. Happy to recommend Dacia to anyone..... Oh yes and the boot is massive on the Logan, great family car.

dasx on 2015-01-06 15:12:17 EditHad never heard of Dacia before I bought the Logan Laureate 1.5 diesel.
Very pleased with Value for Money and fuel economy (regularly getting 64mpg).
Minor niggles involve Radio/Navigator and Reversing Beep (both fitted by Importer).
Bluetooth on the radio seems rather dated - will not get Address Book from my Android 4.2 smartphone.
Took up the offer of free 90 days maps update - very clumsy process, which wiped out all the speed cameras.
Reversing Beep thingy packed up after 6 months - correctly rewired by Distributor at first service.Plenty of room in the boot, good visibility all round - pleasant to drive.

Logan Diesel Laureate 1.5 dCi90. Had the car for about 3 months - done 3700 miles so far, including a long trip down through France. Very pleased with it, - economical - getting 62 mpg so far - not quite the 74mpg advertised, but still pretty good. We both find it comfortable to drive and comfortable for the front seat passenger.. Nice big car - plenty of room in the boot for luggage and lots of room in the front leaving plenty of leg room for back seat passengers. Early days yet - but no problems at all with the car. Performance is fine for us, acceleration reasonable, steering and braking feel fine. A few minor niggles - a bit irritating to have to click through the trip computer to see the time, outside temperature, mileage etc. Speedo is inset, so pretty dark and sometimes difficult to see if the lights aren't on and you have to remember to use the lever to open the boot before getting out of the car or use the key. Overall we're delighted with the car - amazing value for the price, and economical to run..
