It's located in the Rt wheel arch. Look from inside the engine bay & identify it.

Jack up the car & remove the Rt tyre. Unclip the plastic cladding from the front. The diesel filter is inside a protective steel cover.

 

Thanks, as I said I've seen the recommended procedure, I was hoping to get access to the fuel filter without taking off the wheel arch out because it's an awful job as wheelarch liners never seem to back exactly as they came out.

 

I've done mine a couple of times, it goes back well.

 

Detach the front part of the liner & fold it back. No need to remove the whole thing.

 

Further to dralexandertom's reply above:
Use an old wire hanger or similar to hook thru the liner fixing hole and attach to the strut/ coil spring for easier access to the fuel filter housing.
I preferred to purchase a complete filter unit to swap out rather than the messy disassembly with replacement filter only and O rings.
