Clutch foot catching

After plucking up the courage to make a change to my car and I am pleased with the results.

The problem possibly for right hand drive cars only was that my shoe caught the plastic trim on the transmission tunnel when releasing the clutch, not every time but enough to be a problem.

This is the part of the plastic housing over the transmission tunnel that curves down in line with the position my foot needs for smooth and safe operation of the clutch

The solution scribe a straight line above the part that forms a gentle curve down from the trim with a craft knife half way through the plastic material and fold the plastic back.

Result much more space for my foot and no chance of my foot fouling the trim.Should I wish to reverse the change I can folyd tha trim back and stiffen with some plastic glued to the underside.

Cos nothing and made the car more comfortable and possibly safer to drive.

Mike Ive been looking for a solution for the same issue on my Stepway, am I right in thinking that you folded the flap of plastic trim underneath the main body of the tunnel or did you cut it off completely as it looks like this from the picture.

Sorry for the delay I have been a bit busy, As stated I cut into the plastic not through it and folded the annoying bit back under the transmission cover so it could be folded back if required. Still very happy with this simple mod and a bit safer too.

2020 comfort Stepway. I had the same issue with my left foot catching on plastic cover. I felt it was dangerous and reported to garage.
I thought that a self tapping screw with washer was used, it would pull the plastic closer to the metal body and give more clearance without the risk of my foot fouling again. This worked perfect ,it was a job I had considered myself but decided to let the dealer do it and I avoided any risk of drilling through a cable or brake pipe on the underside.
I am surprised after such a common fault and I still believe could have been a safety issue , that Dacia does not listen to comments and faults to rectify this at production level.
