After being seen and admired Parade December 1 , the new creation of Dacia was finally tested in the field. It's Dacia Duster Army , a special model in collaboration with MND . This Duster has protection systems , night vision and a 7.62 mm caliber automatic machine gun . Dacia Duster Duster Army is a model specially modified for the military . It has some special accessories for operation in rough terrain , and options taken directly from the act. To cope with any off-road conditions , DDA is equipped with Warn winch , towing eyelets in all corners Mud - Terrain Simex tires , underbody protective shields and a roll cage outside. Besides the features that turn it into a real Duster off-road vehicle , there are accessories that contributed Ministry of Defence . It's a machine gun 7.62 mm caliber automatic assault that was mounted on a metal platform , initially used on a tank of Land Forces equipment . The platform was improved but many aluminum parts to give a low weight that does not influence the center of gravity of the car.

Mechanical Plant engineers have developed platform Bucharest and Romanian company was responsible for the electronics . You gun platform is composed of mobile holder equipped with electric motors that move the gun in 3 axes armored compartment for weapons and targeting systems . Gun is handled inside the car using an operator has available a joystick connected to a computer integrated touchscreen . " Platform teleoperator is one of the five versions of the equipment. This version is one of the aluminum 's light weight , which allowed us to assemble Dacia vehicle type . Do not try to hide that further adapt to it cal weapons team . 12.7 mm and 14.5 mm. Romarm We have a request from one platform to adapt to weapons teleoperator horse. 20 mm. " Mechanical Plant says general manager Bucharest, Gheorghe Ioana .

Complex electronic systems consists of observation in daylight , thermal camera and laser telemetry system . All these systems are connected to the computer operated by the shooter. In addition, the car 's lighting systems and infra - red Blackout mode when the headlights and taillights have factory covered and can be seen only by those endowed with special glasses. The Army Duster is more an observation car at night , only one assault . Copy Duster Army was subjected to field tests and firing cartridges maneuver , not to see some real precision targeting systems . Even so, it seems that in the future we will see some improved models for the army . It seems that Renault center in Titu working on some special armor kits for the Duster to be more secure in real combat .

Currently, this project seems a good solution for border areas. For the main advantage of this machine is the power monitoring and observation at night, not attack power. But gun being used for intimidation or to stop those who want to cross the border illegally or make traffic. But in real war fronts such as Afghanistan or Iraq, the Duster would need more armor to cope with war conditions there. But since this is a first draft, we believe that in the future we will see Romanian car adapted better to possibly be a product worthy to be considered by the armed forces worldwide.

At the most Paintball ! the Duster would not last in a Military environment

Too late was the cry - Mrs WB spotted the thread and now wants to know if 'we'(!) could get the external roll-bar for hers!!!!!

Seems like a wee bit of over-kill to me for the ASDA car park, but there again with all the muppets that park in supermarket car parks perhaps an automatic 'bump sensitive' machine gun turret would be the better option? LOL!

I am sure that the average "SANE" soldier would soon have one of these for active service

It may be a "special" one for the army.....

but throw enough money at them and I'm sure they'll make me one !!!

especially if i ask....really really nicely

I prefer the duster, its more maneuverable, better looking, and has better MPG and road tax

than a tank

I've found

  :D
