My parents bought a Duster recently and at the dealership were pleased the sales guy paired their phones with the car. The radio was on when they left the dealership and they believe it's the only way to access the phone's functionality. Is that true? I have searched everywhere for details of how all the menus work, but have found no info. In my own car, I can have the radio on or off and it makes no difference to the phone ringing/making calls etc. I also have a mute button.

So, is there anyone out there can help me with my parent's Duster?

Can you access the phone menus without the radio on?

If the radio has to be on, is there a mute function somewhere?

Thanks very much!! :)

The middle button on the stalk mutes the radio and can also reject or answer phone calls.

I always have the radio (or media) playing in the car. I'll have to try it to see if it works with the radio off or the radio volume turned right down.

It appears that you DO have to have the radio on to make/receive phone calls.

However if you turn the volume of the radio right down to silent, you can still make/receive calls and (hear them).
