Does anyone know the score regarding car warranty on a Duster if a third party towbar is fitted? Would fitting a Witter towbar and wiring affect my warranty. I am concerned as i have a five year warranty ..

Obviously if it affects the electrical system on the car i could see it may be and issue if i start to have niggling electrical faults, but surely adding a towbar wont inpact the mechanical warranty on the car will it? Thats the fitted price shown.

I see other owners of a Duster have added a towbar and pictures of a moderators car with one on. I think he got it from the same source as me Indespension.

Does anyone have info on this?

Hi Den I have one fitted to my duster and was told no issues if correctly fitted, but I had a specialist place fit mine. I would be a bit sceptical about having one fitted by one of those cheapy fitters though. Mine cost 260 with fitting.

Had mine fitted by TOWBARS4U for £260. Their fiiter was amazing and did a magic job of it. No mess and no worries. All done in a couple of hours too. He fitted a Witter unit with a fixed ball and single socket. Its only for a ERDE car trailer so no problem.

SOme people wouldnt use a home fit service but i wanted to so i didnt have to spend half a day at a fitting place etc.

As i said they were very good and a good price too. I had to have a small bumper cut of about an inch by two inches. You cannot see it at all so no problems at all. The wiring is all hidden. It comes with a new beepr that tells you if the lights are working or not. In fact the beeper is a legal requirement plus it is slightly louder than the Dacia indicator one so a better sound too.

I would recommend them to Duster owners totally.

Well happy with my new towbar from Towbars4u. No issues at all and towing is a breeze. All the wiring is neat and works fine plus i had the installer add a reversing light for the trailer too at no extra cost. You dont get one as standard and the Duster one doesnt light up enough with a trailer on the hitch. I tow an Erde 142 5foot long trailer and i dont even know its attached as the Duster copes easily and more so with the extra power from an add on chip upgrade which has functioned perfectly since added.

The small cut away for the bar is not noticable at all which was a worry. I have also sprayed it all with a black underseal spray can once fitted plus any other area once under neath the car. A cheap and easy way to protect it all under there and recommended by me.
