Heater takes electricity from battery?

Hi,
If i am driving and put the heater on at max without turning the fan on at all....does that use electricity from the car battery?
Also, does it do any damage to the heating element?...ie make it overheat?

I am actually thinking that turning the heater on at max, makes the car's coolant water circulate through a heat exchanger for the cabin, which will actually result in slight extra cooling for the coolant water?

This sounds useful for me as the radiator fan is not working. Also, there is slight white smoke coming off the engine after a journey, which i think is due to a slight cam head gasket leak.

The cabin heater is really hot coolant circulating thru a small radiator & doesn't use electricity.

If u ever have a problem w/ the radiator fan or engine overheating due to some other cause, u can use the cabin heater & blower at full speed. It is effective to cool the engine. Of course u need coolant for heat transfer.

There is also an optional Valeo 800W electrical heater in the HVAC unit in countries that require it.

An electrical coolant heater near the radiator may be present in cars sold in some countries.

Thanks, is it ok to have the heater on full and not the blower on? I dont want the blower on as there is smoke coming off the engine and i dont want that in the cabin.

(Not knocking Dacia Sandero Access with these posts by the way...the car is actually driving fine...just that i want it to keep that way. Bought new in 2019, now 45000 miles and still going strong!)

Coolant will always be flushed thru the heater core. The air direction flaps are switched for cold, mix, or hot air. The blower controls the air flow.
If your engine is smoking attend to that first! Switch the fresh air lever to 'recirculate'.
