So, just drove away from the dealers, at last! Ordered in late February, so took a little longer than we'd hoped.

First annoyance I've noticed: The key. Unlike most modern car keys, it doesn't 'fold' down... so its huge! I can imagine it wearing a hole in my pocket in a matter of weeks.

Other than that, first impression is really good. Quite an upgrade from a morris minor. The dealer didn't mention the run-in regime. Does it mention it in the handbook? I assume it's just a matter of keeping the revs low?

yes hanvyj, it should be in the manual....

is a diesel or petrol engine???

the regimes are slightly different....

for diesel....its keep the revs less than 2500 for the first 900 miles....and then don't stretch it til after 3500 miles

tbh i did 2500 revs for about 5000 miles......you feel the engine loosen and ease as time progresses

i've done 15000 miles in George now...and he runs like an absolute dream....

WELL worth following the advice IMHO

hope this helps
