Datsun 120Y in nappy brown. Mostly filler covering up rust, nearside front wing fell off. I think it cost £120

Fiesta MK2 in Red - Distributor was loose and timing would drift, used to yank it back again.

Ford Orion Petrol 1.1l

Ford Orion Diesel 2.0l (used half the fuel of the Petrol version, slow up hills, heated windscreen was nice)

Mazda MX5 MK1 1.8i from new for 14 years. Joined the owners club, went on trips with them to Paris (staying in one of the Rothchild's Chateaux, treated to very nice lunch by Mazda France), Amsterdam, Belgium and a trip to the World convention in Dallas, TX where I met the guy who designed it. Hired an MX5 while I was there, then flew to San Francisco and hired a Ford Mustang convertible - which arrived with 5 miles on the clock - and drove it down highway 1 to Los Angeles before another flight to Las Vegas). Most fun car ever. Once, driving through central London an attractive blonde girl just got in saying, "I've always wanted to do this" and I drove her across the city.

Suzuki Bandit 600cc motorcycle - drove it round France.

Hyundai Getz 1.1 - went to the shops in it.

New guy here, been reading up on Duster head units, reversing cameras etc. Very informative to far.

Motoring history...

2005- Ford Escort Van (K 1992 plate) - leaked like a sieve, gearstick kept falling thru floor. Total rot box

2006 - Ford Transit (W 2000 plate)- Ex BT van, sluggish 2.5L di n/a diesel. Recently had stub axle snap, wheel bearings fail, shed load of welding over the years and is getting long in the tooth. Now in semi-retirement.

Mar 2015 - New 15 plate Duster Ambiance 2x4 in Silver. First time I've ever brought a new vehicle rather than driving a rot-box van!

3 vehicles in 10 years of motoring!

I spent quite a bit of money my Mk2 Golf GTi. Involved a few trips to AmD in Oxfordshire.

Custom ECU remap. Cylinder head ported/polished. Milltek Sport Exhaust etc.................

It was a great car. Best fun i've had behind the wheel

My polo gt was good. Raven blue metallic dropped 30mm custom back box which sounded sweet even on a diesel, black 17"s debadged grille smoked rear lights tinted windows.

I've had a few cars. In reverse order:
Currently own a Stepway Ambiance dci (family car - great for price/economy etc) and a Focus st170 (looks nice, handles well, slower than I'd like)
Micra dci - same engine as the Stepway, nice car until ABS went and engine loom melted!
Xsara VTS - not bad, under rated
Clio 182 - Cracking car. Wouldn't have got rid of it but needed the money
Saxo VTS - Spent a lot of money on this and got it to 155 bhp. Faster and more fun than the clio but a bit flimsy
Saxo VTS - not bad, shame about iit's image/rep
Fiat Cinquecento - building up no claims after claim on previous car
Nova 1.2
Fiat Panda - awful, awful car but so quirky I kind of liked it
Escorts Ghia 1.6 - boring/unreliable but fast for the age I had it
Mini Metro - Total shed and started to learn to drive in it.

Yes I do. It wasn't intentional, its just that they are good solid cars. Not brilliant but good. The exception being the SRi. I wish I had kept that, but that may be because the Astra convertible was so terrible!

My list is as follows:-

Vauxhall Cavalier Mk 1 1600L - two door - fantastic first car - pity it broke down so often (1985 to 1987)

Renault 5 1.4 GTL - the new 5 - a reaction against the Cavalier breaking down so much (1987 to 1994)

Ford Fiesta Popular (1000 cc) - first company car - only extra option was a rear wiper (1989 to 1990)

Vauxhall Cavalier Mk3 1400L - great car - underpowered (1990 to 1994)

Rover 418GTD - sounded like a tractor (1994 to 1995)

Vauxhall Cavalier Mk 3 CD 1.7TD (1995 to 1996)

Vauxhall Carlton Mk3 2.0 CDX (1996 to 1997)

Vauxhall Cavalier Mk 3 1.6 LS (1997 to 1999)

BMW 318 SE (1999 to 2002)

Ford Orion 1.8 Ghia S (2002 to 2005)

BMW 318 ti Compact (2005 to 2008)

BMW 318 Convertible (2008 to 2011)

BMW M3 Convertible (2011 to 2013) - best car I ever had

VW Passat Highline 1.9TD (2013 to 2015) - very comfy car for long distance driving, but did the wife's back in as seat position is poor

Dacia Duster 1.6 AWD Access (2015 onwards) - having read lots of comments in the press and on the forum, I have to say we are amazingly pleased with the car which seems to be well put together and drives really well. Plus the seat position means that my wife's back is now almost pain free.

Looking at the list, I hadn't realised that I had had so many cars!
