I'm doing this myself using a well respected local garage...... but would you go genuine filter and oil (You don't have to as long as they are oe spec) I work in the trade and can get O.E spec Mahle filter and Renault specific oil for probably half what dealer would charge... but don't know if I want to.....

If they can find any reason to void the warranty they will so for the sake of a few quid why take the risk?

I must admit..... I am thinking that way.....although if of comparable quality they are meant to accept it...... but i am going to get a pollen filter from work and fit it soon..... the blowers seem to pick up leaf debris...... it made that noise again for a few minutes a week or so ago.......

Simon if you get the pollen filter and it fits ok give me a PM chap as I would like one as well to stop the dust and debris coming through the blowers as well! Im on in Nottingham so can pop over to collect or just the part number if I can order it anywhere would be good please!

I'll pop a few different manufacturers (fram, Mahle, Ufi etc.....) part numbers on this thread on Monday when I'm back at work.... I just need to have a butchers where it goes..... On my old mondeo........ you took the wiper scuttle panel off above the bonnet and on my Kia you took the glovebox out (even the garage had to google that one!) I think there are a few mentions of where it goes on this forum but got a feeling its the Mark 1 version.......

Edit: you should get one on from Motor-world in Bullwell or Euro-Car parts (think they are sort north Nottingham somewhere....) or if you want you can get one off me in Swadlincote I but will post part number anyway.......

They will just say there is no fault anyway so what's the warranty worth? why give the thieving [email protected] more of your money and they will probably bodge the work anyway. Give the job to someone you trust. Its just oil and a filter any spanner monkey can do the job. My renault specialist held a doitall tape rule across the chassis and pronounced it all square even after a lazer scan had said there was faults!

I opted for the 7 year warranty, are they really going to say "wear and tear" to get out of everything? One of the main reasons behind choosing a new car over second hand was to have a warranty!

Hit 12000 miles and had first service yesterday at Renault/ Dacia dealers in Ware, £148. Happy with that.

sometimes a little smoke from the exhaust and definitely a stinky eggy smell in the cabin for about 5 mins usually happens over around 45 to 50 miles constant driving with 3000 rpm on the rev counter so in a lower gear most cars require the fuel tank to be 2 thirds full for regeneration to occur.

my son borrowed my dacia sandero 3 pot diesel and drove from Kettering to the isle of sky on 3 quarters of a tank of fuel it must have been running on fresh air, we have noticed that it does much better on fuel after an oil and filter change before a very long run. best I have had is on a run down to Portsmouth 130 miles it did 87mpg at between 50 and 70 mph. Amazing.

You can see the mpg dropping over a period of time on a steady basis even when you are going the same speed etc and the car runs a little rougher and less responsive.

On the Renault engine its not very noticeable on either the Sandero or QQ, other cars they run like tractors and in the cold you get white vapor coming out of the back

change the oil more often and the mpg will improve drastically
