My plan is, once I've test drove one, and bought my Access model, is to buy it sans-options. (Although still not sure about the ASR!). Then I'll be buying all the add-ons and fit them myself. Part of the fun for me is adding things to cars. Also means I can improve our selection of Tutorials

Nick,

When you do and have done it all to your duster and are at a loss as to what to do next, I know someone who may have a duster with bits needing adding to it..................................

Looking forward to getting the access 2wd petrol and maybe fitting LPG. The petrol fuel consumption looks noticeably worse than the diesel but this may go some way to get near it pound for pound. Only thing that worries me is, will it invalidate the warranty?
Seven years is along time to wait before fitting it!

Hi
not sure if this is possible but thought this is the place to ask.
I've got a traffic accident camera sitted to my car but will be putting it in my new Duster.
It has motion detection and also infrared nigt vision which surprising works very well.
The camera plugs into lighter connection when running and has a battery that lasts a few hours.
Can this be directly plugged into the fuse box in the Duster to allow it to be left on overnight so it can be used as a security camera??
I currently don't know what stays live in the fuse box or even if the fuse box is in the cabin of a Duster!

Yes it will be possible. Only consideration is battery drain of the car is being left for a period without being driven.

The audio system will have a permanent supply as well as a switched, the permanent supply is what keeps your radio pre sets stored and why it can remember where you stopped listening to a particular cd track.

Also check the cigar lighter outlet, I've not had my hands non a duster to check, but on a lot if cars that remains live when the key is out.

Is the duster full size fuses or mini blade fuses? I have a fuse tap I could send you to allow access to a circuit without cutting into the cars wiring.

Chipping will be my first mod, my mate at Specialist ECU is making the box as I write this, freeing up 25-30 bhp and About 80nm extra torque. All in a discrete box that'll plug into the OBD2 connector.

Thanks for the offer on the fuse tap. I bought a blade that sits under the fuse allowing you to spur off without soldering. Its only one wire though so not sure where to feed other end. Im hoping lighter stays live as itll make it easy! Dont think the drain will be bad the camera is low power.

Sounds like the same thing. The single wire is you 12v supply the chassis is the earth. How is it powered just now? From the cig lighter? Why not install a hidden socket so you can leave it plugged in but keep the car tidy?

Thats what i intendto do. Want to make sure it all works correctly before hand.

The camera was £20 from china but actually surprising quality considering. I wad astonished at the motion detection and night vision. Quite amazing for a sub budget camera.

"Blinking" mode. Is that a polite way of saying flashing? I'm sure the police would love you for that.

I like DRL's I've ran about with lights on for years anyway. So long as the do produce a bright white I'm sure they could do the trick.

Have you found LZ parts on youtube yet? German speaking tutorials but he shows off some neat products.

Here's a link to the round drl's that are fog lamp position mounted. I like them better.

Ideally would like to get an Access , but the lack of seat height adjustments puts me off since I have had hip problems related to driving in the past. How easy would it be to swap the Access front seats out and repalce with height adjustable ones. Any comments as to cost of seats as well would be appreciated.
