Hi Guys,

Picked up my New Dacia Duster Ambiance 4x2 on Friday 22nd May 2015.

It was supposed to be ready for collection the day before but dealer did not return my call, rang on Friday morning and they said I could pick it up anytime suitable to me.

Car was brought round, with a lovely bunch of flowers as an apology from the sales guy as I had already said I wasn't happy with the customer service, there was no fuel in it and as I had paid £20 for fuel the salesman took me and my son and the dog to the station and filled it up with fuel (cost him about £63), on the way back I noticed that there was no MediaNav, salesman trying to tell me I hadn't ordered it...long story short, I had, it wasn't there. Arranged to have it fitted and use of a courtesy car on 5th June (first date available).

In the mean time I have noticed that I only have 1 reversing light, I have been locked inside the car twice now, the fuel gauge doesn't seem correct as I did 120 miles before the first light went out and now on 350 and only one left on, left indicator doesn't cancel, hands free does not work properly and no one can hear what I am saying, radio keeps losing frequency, park distance control doesn't work properly as the digital distance display just jumps around randomly and I have a whole bunch of wires hanging down in the passenger foot well.

Dealer rang me on 4th June and said 'car's all booked in for the 16th June, we accidentally gave the courtesy car to someone for tomorrow so that's the soonest we can do it'.

Has anyone else had problems like this...did you get them sorted out easily?

I haven't, as yet, told the dealer about the other faults, they only know about the MidiaNav at the moment but I will email them today with my list and see what they come back with.

One reverse light is normal.

The first blob on the fuel does go out slower than the rest, in my experience, 350 to almost empty sounds low though, I get at least 500 miles from a tank on mixed drives.

PDC kits don't seem to be installed very well by some dealers, do you have a tow bar? Are the faces of the sensors all perpendicular to the horizontal? My Mothers kit wasn't working and I found that one of the sensors wasn't even connected, and the sounder was just swinging about in the boot area by its wire.

The radio issues and hands free should be sorted when you get the media-nav.

Sorry youve had issues Dizzaloo

the first blob on the fuel takes longer, cos if u fill it to the top...uve also got fuel up the pipe so to speak....you hear it fill up just before the nozzle clicks off...

so there is more fuel on the first blob !

one reverse light is normal....otherwise in the dark it looks like a car coming towards you...

its worth fiddling with the handsfree settings....setting it to "loudness" makes a huge difference to the speakers and how folk can hear you in my experience...but the bluetooth is not the easiest to set up...a friend gained grey hairs tryong to explain it to me tbh !

Once you take the keys out of the ignition, the car will autolock after about 30 secs, but you can set it to not to do that....the instructions should be in the manual.

The other stuff...you should inform your dealer...and possibly make a phone call to customer services to lodge your issues...that way they should get fixed asap...

Wishing you well and good luck with it

Hi, thanks for the replies, I thought that might be the case with the reversing light...so that's one less on my list. Also the fuel gauge...I know that the first one would have more but the second blob went out after another 10 miles so that can't be right...but hopefully it will level out with the next refill. The sensors on the bumper all look flat and fine so I don't think it's the sensors, but if the wires (if that's what they are from) have been kicking around in the foot well then something might be loose.

I will let you know what the dealers say when I get a reply and will speak to customer services...they rang when the car was on order and said that there would be a 60 minute orientation with the new car, that certainly didn't happen and I also ordered 'Supaguard' but that wasn't put on the car either, wasn't charged for that tho'...I was charged for dealer car mats at £25 and didn't need them...waiting for my refund still! : )

Update...emailed salesman and the sales manager at my dealers first thing Monday morning, included a photo of dodgy wiring.

Immediately got an out of office response from my sales guy and early evening got a one liner from his boss "anything I can help you with"...did he not read the email??? I thought that this was a very casual reply given that this is a brand new car.

Anyway, this morning (Wednesday) I have contacted Dacia customer support, who were absolutely fantastic...have agreed that they will get back to me at the end of the week so I will update you again when I hear anything.

Other than all of it's problems, I really like my new car : )
