The below is a press release aimed predominetly at the European market, hence the prices in Euros. Expect to see most of these features coming to the UK soon though.

New Dacia Duster gains a new front-end that underlines its go-anywhere looks. The redesigned grille features a new air intake and the new double-optic headlights include daytime running lights. The interior gets a revamp too, with a brand new dashboard.

New equipment and enhanced features, all at Dacia prices
New Dacia Duster delivers more: electronic stability control (ESC) and four airbags as standard (on Euro 5 version), plus Dacia MEDIA NAV, cruise control with speed limiter and rear park assist. The starting price remains unchanged, at €11,900.

Engine range extended for extra versatility and performance
New Dacia Duster gets for the first time a TCe engine, rated at 125 bhp. This new engine significantly reduces fuel consumption, to just 6.3 l / 100 km.
New Dacia Duster is available with two versions of the 1.5 dCi powerplant, rated at 90 or 110 bhp, which provides superior drivability with improved acceleration. New Dacia Duster has substantial improvements in acoustic comfort : the overall noise level on board has been halved.

A hardworking compact SUV
New Dacia Duster maintains all the qualities that made Duster a success, including versatility in use, all-terrain abilities for the 4x2 version and off-road abilities for the 4x4 version. And the same Dacia fundamentals: generosity, reliability and simplicity for shrewd customers. New Dacia Duster ships with a three-year/100,000-km warranty, as do all the vehicles in the Dacia range.

Change outside, revolution inside
The front end has been upgraded, with a redesigned grille, featuring two chrome-plated strips and housing a new, low set air intake and new double-optic headlights with daytime running lights. The upgrades underscore the car's on-road stance and robust, "go-anywhere" character.

New "DUSTER"-labeled roof bars with slatted supports underline the car's SUV character, while new 16-inch "Dark Metal" alloy wheels and "Mud and Snow" tires revitalize the profile of New Dacia Duster.

At the rear, new sharply outlined light units echo the styling cues of the front end. Further design enhancements include a chrome-plated tailpipe4, new "4WD" lettering for 4x4 versions, and a new castellated nameplate trim. Duster is now available in a new body color: Comète Grey.

Major changes inside
The interior design of New Dacia Duster has been upgraded to reflect the exterior styling, positioning it clearly in the world of four-wheel-drive vehicles.
The dashboard has been redesigned to feature a central console flanked by two vertical surrounds that emphasize its robust appearance.

Darker cabin color schemes underline the strong character and sound 4x4 credentials of New Dacia Duster. The seats have been redesigned, and the back of the rear bench seat reinforced for improved comfort. New Dacia Duster comes with four new upholstery choices, including one in leather.

New Dacia Duster proudly restates its go-anywhere aspiration, both inside and out.
"We built on the appeal of the original model and its proportions. Identity components such as the grille have been modernized. We have also enhanced the 4x4 cues of the vehicle, while keeping all its useful features. New Duster gains an even more assertive character while maintaining its initial DNA."

New equipment and enhanced features, all at Dacia prices
Multimedia arrives on new Dacia Duster with two offers:

1) Dacia MEDIA NAV, an easy-to-use multimedia and satnav system (some versions). The large 7-inch (18-cm) touchscreen features a clear startpage for intuitive browsing among the functions of the menu : radio, media, phone, card, satnav and settings. Dacia MEDIA NAV includes Bluetooth® connectivity and satnav, with 2D and 3D (Birdview) displays. For a convenient connection, personal mobile devices such as phone and MP3 player can be plugged on USB and jack connectors mounted on the front panel.

2) Dacia Plug&Radio, the essential multimedia system, is a simple and effective technology comprising a radio, an MP3-compatible CD player, Bluetooth connectivity, and jack and USB plugs on the dash front.

Useful new equipment
To address customers' expectations, New Dacia Duster ships with more new useful equipment:

- Cruise control / speed limiter (on some versions) controls are located on the central console (system activation) and steering wheel (speed setting).
- Rear park assist (on some versions) uses sensors fitted in the rear bumper to detect when the car is nearing an obstacle behind it and warn the driver accordingly.
- The power window controls, now located on the doors (front and rear) are equipped with a one-touch function on the driver's side (on some versions).
New Dacia Duster provides even more cabin space and a trunk volume increased to 475 liters. The new model can carry objects up to 2.70 meters long with the rear bench folded down and has up to 3.3 liters of additional interior stowage space, 443 liters for 4x4 models with tire repair kit; 408 liters for 4x4 models with spare wheel. A new removable, stiff luggage shelf offers easy access to the contents of the trunk and helps to better organize storage.

New equipment for active safety …
The electronic stability control function (ESC) is fitted as standard on New Dacia Duster (Euro 5 models). The system keeps the vehicle on course in the toughest conditions, when avoiding obstacles, losing grip in bends and driving on slippery surfaces. Also fitted as standard, emergency brake assist (EBA) rounds out the ABS anti-lock braking system.

…and passive safety
Setting the highest levels in safety for all the occupants, New Dacia Duster is equipped (from the first Euro 5 trim level) with front driver and passenger airbags, as well as side head-and-chest airbags. Drivers and front-seat passengers who to buckle up are alerted by a visual and sound signal (Euro 5 versions). The rear seats are fitted with Isofix fasteners for safe, uncomplicated attachment of baby and child seats.

Stronger 4x4 styling
Two special packs are available to further emphasize the adventurous look of New Dacia Duster and express its personality.
- "Adventure" pack includes wing extenders (to protect the wheel arches against abrasion and chipping) and door-sill protectors (to protect against impacts).
- "Off-road" pack features a footboard and a bull bar.

Accessories that make everyday life easier
New Dacia Duster provides enhanced interior protection, with a range of protective mats for the trunk and cabin, a restraining grille between the trunk and the back seats, and seat covers. Additional equipment includes crosswise roof bars, supporting up to 100 kg, and a loading tray.

Comfort and peace of mind
For even more comfort and peace of mind, New Dacia Duster is now available with front park assist, adding to an already comprehensive range of safety accessories that includes a fire extinguisher kit, an anti-theft system, snow chains and a child seat.

TCe 125 Turbo Petrol Engine
New TCe 125, a new-generation petrol engine is now available with an engine from the Renault group's renowned TCe range. The TCe 125, a 125 bhp four-cylinder direct-injection turbocharged power unit, reaps the full benefit of Renault's extensive engine downsizing program, delivering the driveability of a 1.8-liter normally-aspirated engine in a 1.2-liter format that affords much lower fuel consumption.
The TCe 125 is both powerful and economical. Fuel consumption is a frugal 6.3 l / 100 km7, while the lifetime timing chain is maintenance-free. The TCe 125 is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox and available on the 4x2 version of New Dacia Duster. CO2 emissions are 145g / km.
This new-generation powerplant features an aluminum engine block measuring 1,198 cc. It develops 125 bhp, with torque peaking at 205 Nm, 90% of which is available from 1,500 rpm and 100% from 2,000 to 3,000 rpm. This makes for an eminently supple response, convincing acceleration, and effortless pull-away. The engine's supple, responsive characteristics also ensure the car is at ease on mountain roads that demand power and acceleration on steep gradients. The TCe 125 is agile and responsive, accelerating from 0 to 100 kph in 10.4 seconds.

105 bhp 1.6-liter 16v petrol engine
The 105 bhp 1.6-liter 16v engine, the most affordable petrol unit in the range, is still available on 4x2 and 4x4 versions of New Dacia Duster (in some countries). Combined-cycle fuel consumption with the 105 bhp 1.6 16v petrol engine is 7.1 l / 100 km on the 4x2 Duster and 8 l / 100 km on the 4x4 version, with CO2 emissions of 165 / km and 185g / km respectively. This engine is combined with a six-speed manual gearbox on the 4x4 version.

105 bhp 1.6-liter 16v LPG engine
Dacia also continues to promote LPG fuel as an economical alternative to diesel. In some countries, the 1.6 16v 105 engine is therefore available in a dual-fuel version, with lower running costs and lower CO2 emissions. Combined-cycle fuel consumption with the 105 bhp 1.6 16v dual-fuel engine is 7.2 l / 100 km for petrol and 9.0 l / 100 km for LPG, with CO2 emissions of 167 and 145 g / km respectively. As on all Dacia LPG vehicles, the driver selects the required fuel (petrol or LPG). Fuel selection is a perfectly straightforward operation. At a pump price of under €1 per liter, LPG can be a highly economical option. This engine is available on the 4x2 version of New Dacia Duster, coupled with a five-speed manual gearbox.

High-performance diesel
New Dacia Duster is available with two versions of the 1.5 dCi powerplant, rated at 90 or 110 bhp. Renault's best-selling 1.5 dCi engine, hugely appreciated for both reliability and performance, offers further enhancements. Superior drivability comes with improved acceleration, further facilitated by the highly efficient six-speed manual gearbox. The 1.5 dCi 90 engine is available on the 4x2 version, with combined-cycle fuel consumption of 4.7 l / 100 km and CO2 emissions of 123g / km. Combined-cycle CO2 emissions from the 1.5 dCi 110 unit stand at 127g / km on the 4x2 Dacia and at 135g / km on the 4x4 version, with fuel consumptions of 4.8l / 100 km and 5.1l / 100 km respectively. The new TCe 125 petrol engine and the dCi 90 and dCi 110 diesel are mated to a six-speed manual gearbox.

The off-road capabilities of New Dacia Duster are further enhanced by the six-speed manual gearbox, which features a short-staged first gear affording:
- smooth, gradual response at low speeds over uneven terrain
- powerful pull-away on steep gradients
- effective downhill load retention.

Reduced fuel consumption with the Eco Mode function and Gear Shift Indicator
Eco Mode (available on some versions) helps drivers optimize fuel consumption. When activated, the system applies specific settings that limit engine performance and thermal comfort, within limits acceptable to both driver and passengers. Eco Mode can cut fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by up to 10%, depending on driving style and road conditions. The Gear Shift Indicator (GSI) uses visual signals to inform drivers of optimum revs for shifting up or down, to reduce fuel consumption.

Substantial improvements in acoustic comfort
The overall noise level on board New Dacia Duster has been halved. This very substantial improvement in acoustic comfort has been achieved by reducing noise from three sources:
- road noise ;
- engine noise ;
- and wind noise.

Engines mated to the six-speed manual gearbox also benefit from improved acoustics at high speed; the noise level at 130 kph in New Dacia Duster is comparable to that at 90 kph on the previous version.

A hardworking compact SUV
New Dacia Duster keeps the same compact body proportions - 4.31 m long and 2 m wide - for impressive agility. Sitting high up, drivers have excellent visibility and can anticipate any obstacles, for optimum safety.

A real off-roader (in 4x4 version)
In its 4x4 version, New Dacia Duster is ideal for off-road use:
- reinforced underbody
- high ground clearance (210 mm), for handling uneven terrain
- true off-roader clearance angles: approach angle 29.3°, ramp breakover angle 23°, and departure angle 34.9°.

4x4 TO ORDER
Using the intuitive 4x4 control on the central console, the driver can adapt vehicle
capabilities to actual conditions as required. In 4x2 mode, the transmission is locked into two-wheel drive. This mode, the most fuel-economical, is suitable for driving on good, dry road surfaces.
In Auto mode, torque is split between front and rear axles automatically on the basis of actual grip conditions, up to 50 % on the rear axles.
In Lock mode, the system locks electronically into four-wheel drive, transferring 50% of engine torque through to the rear wheels on a permanent basis. This mode is recommended at low speeds on uneven or low-grip surfaces (snow, mud, dirt, sand).
Dacia Duster 4x4 is equipped with a six-speed gearbox with a short first ratio (5.79kph per 1,000 rpm) which allows the vehicle to travel at very slow speed on uneven terrain, and improves performance as you pull away from standstill with heavy loads or on steep slopes. This simple, efficient and economical solution was favoured in order to meet the needs of Dacia Duster customers.

The TL8 gearbox offers:
- optimized output thanks to a single gearbox and module architecture which limits the number of gears engaged, and thanks to the use of a low-viscosity lubricant;
- compactness: gearbox and gearshift module are positioned alongside each other with a view to freeing up cabin space and keeping interior roominess.
- controlled mass: on the TL8 gearbox, the short first gear, instead of a transfer box, optimizes the number of gears engaged (and thus the mass) for a maximum level of performance;
- a solution to keep the cost down: the TL8 gearbox is derived from the TL4 gearbox which is a high production volume organ within the Renault-Nissan Alliance.

The 16" wheels on New Dacia Duster are fitted with mud and snow tires featuring a special tread that clears mud, sand and soft snow more efficiently.

I assume this will have the 4th gen' Renault DCI with extra torque (260 blubbidy wubs rather than the 240 of the existing 110 K9K engine). And then there is that promise of "substantial improvements in acoustic comfort". The extra "acoustic comfort" gets my vote above all. That said, existing engine noise in the cabin (as long as the windows are up) is by no means an issue - just road and wind noise. Of course another 20 extra bw's would make the smile even broader!! Ne'mind: Fluffy the Dustbunny was the best thing available when I had to plonk. I won't be swapping her in, but I will be envying that extra "acoustic comfort" when a 2014 model silently passes by. (I won't be so happy if it's overtaking me though !!) -_-

Those roofbars are just awful, and I notice the proliferation of 'on some versions'

Can't grumble so long as they keep the entry price point

Sorry to ruin the dreams But this is from Dacia UK

Dacia UK The facelifted Duster is for left hand drive markets only, replacing a vehicle that had already been on sale for 3 years. The model on sale in the UK comes from a different factory to the European version and already includes some of the features of the facelifted model, e.g. the dashboard. Some of the changes have only been engineered for left hand drive and so with a right hand drive model that has only just been launched in the UK, the decision was made not to develop the full facelifted version for another 3 years.

I expect in three years the UK will get an updated update. :)

Looking at those pictures, I can't see how the holes in the roof bars could make them quieter.

No your missing my point, if the auto box was for example £15k then another make would be £20k so it's still a cheap car for the spec of having an auto box, the cheapness of a Dacia except for the base Sandero is not about the figure but the saving compared to the market.

and Dacia would lose there foothold on the Market ! You do realize they have been selling these cars now for 8 years worldwide so dont worry they will have taken everything into consideration ! dont forget as well that a Automatic is a heavier gearbox ! and other stuff would be changed

Yes, I'm not sure my old car will hold out for another 3 years. But who knows, it may come earlier anyway. If sales start to drop in India they may tool up early for it :)

A bit unnecessarily confrontational, Stuart - all he's saying is that, if they did produce an auto, it would presumably still be proportionally cheaper than the equivalent from another maker, as with the manual version, so still a cheap car!
