Possible Front Wheel Bearing noise

Hi. I have a 2016 Diesel Duster 4WD with 220,000 kms on the clock. It has developed what sounds like a worn wheel bearings noise. Vehicle quiet in a straight line but on cornering (at all speeds) there is what sounds like a bearing whirring/rumble. Drive shafts have been replaced, as has the gearbox and diff oil. Raising vehicle and spinning wheels there is little noise and no play, gear changes are fine with the only issue being a worn syncromesh on 3rd that does not really present any problem.

Anyone any ideas what could be the problem?

Or do Dusters with a higher mileage have a problem in this area.

If you have attained that mileage over that time you have done well to have avoided having to change any of the hub bearings, they don't tend to last that long.
It's difficult to spin the wheels fast enough to listen for bearing noise due to drag in the transmission and dry bearings rarely exhibit play.
If you are certain which 'corner' the sound is coming from I would just replace that bearing they aren't expensive.

Very many thanks for the reply and comments. I actually keep the vehicle in Romania, with my sister in law and use it when I am there. This summer we jacked the vehicle up and span the wheels when in gear and also gave them a good shaking - no noise - but as soon as we took it back out on the road again it made the noise on both right and left turns/bends. So I guess I will need to have both replaced.

Should I go for the original bearings? or is there a better quality replacement I can fit?

I will be back out in Romania at the end of this month so can get it done then.

All the best

Simon

With the additional information you have provided I would ask if you have examined the tyres thoroughly for irregular wear or damage?
With the UK price for Dacia parts considered I would rather source aftermarket replacement bearings, there are numerous OEM supply bearings, SKF and *** come to mind.

True unfortunately, it's virtually impossible to remove them without breaking them on these cars, fortunately at around ÂŁ50 they aren't overly expensive.
It's a frustrating thing that they can't be left in place when changing the bearings like our other car.
