I have been thinking about replacing the basic stereo in my Logan MCV with a unit like this

https://goo.gl/t5OxdZ

Has anyone on here does anything similar?

Is it just a case of swapping them out or has Dacia used custom wiring so I'll have to buy a medianav unit.

Thanks

you'd be better to change the speakers first (if you haven't done so already). The OEM speakers are not good and you won't hear the benefit of your new head unit with them.

It's not the sound quality I'm interested in, it's the satnav more than anything. I just don't want to buy one and find it isn't compatible

There's a lot of aftermarket suggestions on here, including fitting Chinese Nav S160 units.

You either want one with the fascia and connectors built-in, or, a Double Din unit, a fascia adpator, and an ISO wiring harness. Have a look in the Tech Guides section for your car. Ebay has the fascia adapators and the ISO cables. The Sandero models fit, but watch out for Mk1 Logan accessories, which don't.

The Lauréates come with rear speakers, some of the other models don't.

The problem is finding a good fascia adaptor that exactly fits the aperture. The double din ones come with four 'ears' for the mounting lugs. Then, the aftermarket double din unit has to exactly match the fascia.

You can see the lugs in this item which is a custom fit and doesn't need the fascia adaptor:

The wiring harness is usually the easy bit.
