It's very common.. the oils in the peanut butter replace the lost oils in the plastics, only temporary though, and it's cheaper to buy a decent plastic/rubber treatment.Just watched a guy cleaning his black plastic trim with peanut butter......... ............just wondered if you had seen any weird & wonderful tips on there.

Cheap - You can (seriously) use Groundnut Oil - about £2.50 for a litre in a supermarket.
Average - Autoglym Bumper Gel is about £6.. nice and easy to apply, lets you have matt/gloss depending on application.
High end - 303 Aerospace Protectant is really good.. lasts for ages!
