I bought a new 2024 Dacia Sandero Stepway yesterday. I had quite a long drive home, and about 100km into my drive I noticed some weird sounds.
First I noticed a kind of rattling sound, almost like little bits of gravel impacting the undercarriage. This happened on the motorway, at about 100km/h. The sound came and went for about 10 minutes and then disappeared. About 20 minutes later it came back, and this time it grew louder when I accelerated. After a few more minutes, it disappeared. When I looked under the car I noticed a large plastic panel was disconnected from another panel, so I thought maybe the noise was that plastic panel vibrating. But I don't know why it disappeared and then came back.
Then, later on, when idling, the engine was being very loud. It was clearly the engine idling, the sound disappeared as soon as I pressed the accelerator, both in neutral or in gear. As soon as I went back to idling it came back. I'm just worried if it's normal to idle so loud - I didn't notice that sound when the engine was cool and just starting off.
Any input or advice is appreciated.
