Duster 4WD - Transfer Box - Oil Spec

Giving my Duster a thorough top to toe service, I set about changing all the transmission oils.

Gearbox & Rear Dif oil is either 75w85 or 75w90 - I used 75w90 Fully Synthetic GL-5 LS.

However, I was getting mixed messages regarding the correct spec oil to use in the Transfer Box.

Certain sources said to use Nissan Type D or Dexron III ATF.

Others said to use 75w85 or 75w90 Gearbox oil.

On the Inter-Web, both oil types are argued for & against - even our sister Nissan X-Trail Forum does not seem to provide a definite conclusion - there are even examples of Nissan specifying both types within the same publication..

However, what I drained out of my Transfer Box, which I'm 100% sure was the original fitment oil, was honey coloured & smelt like gearbox oil - it appeared to be exactly the same as what I'd just drained out of my Gearbox & Rear Dif, which again, I'm 100% sure was the original fitment oil - it definitely was not red as most ATF oils are (I've never used Nissan Type D so cannot comment on that) - so I opted to refill with 75w90 Fully Synthetic GL-5 LS.

Happy to be told I'm wrong if evidence is there.

It's been bugging me that I didn't fit the exact matching spec transmission oils last year - so, given that I'm going to be towing more than usual this year & whilst I had my Duster (2013, 1.5dci 4WD) up on the ramps today, I decided to redo this job - using the following:
Gearbox = Mannol 8109 75w-80 GL-5 LS (approx 2.2L**)
Transfer box = Mannol 8106 80w-90 GL-5 LS (approx 0.4L**)
Rear Diff = Mannol 8106 80w-90 GL-5 (approx 0.8L**)
** allowing for some dribble,
With regards to the gearbox & transfer drain-plug washers, I have a stash of copper & alum washers that's built-up over the years - so I just dipped into these - so sorry, no part no's available.
There are no washers on either the two rear diff plugs.
