Hi everyone,I have a 2015 diesel Duster which has developed a fault. For the last few weeks, I have noticed a occasional slight squeal from under the bonnet but yesterday the yellow engine malfunction warning light came on and the car lost power for a while, also the squeal became very noticeable at the time. I plugged an OBD reader in and it came back with fault number P1494 which apparently is related to a EVAP fault but I don't think a diesel engine has this system? Cheers.

U need to have a scanner w/ specific Renault/ Dacia software.
That code could also refer to the EGR solenoid valve in some cars.
U have to find the source of the `squeal', such as the accessory belt or water pump.

I've cleaned the EGR valve now and the problem seems to have gone away,thanks for your help.
