I made the mistake of purchasing a Sandero without aircon - how can I fix this?

Hello, I purchased a Dacia Sandero 1.2 Ambiance 5dr (15 - 16) and thought it had aircon. This assumption turned out to be wrong and there were days in the past summer where it was too hot to drive which the children in the car.

The dealer said that it is near impossible to retrofit aircon into my Sandero - are there any alternatives? A portable aircon unit?

P.S. This was my fault, I should have done proper research into the different models.
Apart from this, we are very happy with our Sandero - it is cheap to run/maintain, reliable and just big enough for our family.

I don't think portable units can exist. How would you vent the heat? It is done with an extra radiator on the front.

Your only real option is to upgrade to a 2017 facelift when all the cars except the Access got aircon ( previously it wasn't even available as an option on the Ambiance ) but also an ~ÂŁ700 increase in list price.

Retro fitting, even if possible, would be very difficult and prohibitively expensive.
In the last car I had without it the best solution was to open all of the vents and crack open the rear windows so a good flow of air went through the car. Clearly not as good as having aircon but perfectly tolerable.

I think you are right, Pete574. I have seen the guys on wheeler dealers retro-fit A?C to a car-Volvo, I think, in the US of A, but it was not cheap, too easy and it was a kind of static lump inside the car, under the dash, which would be ok on a 40-odd year old car with nothing obstructing it but on a modern vehicle, there is too much sh-tuff in the way.

It is possible. No coded is needed, a donor car is the answer in order to be cheap. I'll link a video in here maybe will help someone:
