Information about Sandero hub caps

Hello Everyone
I am sorry if I have posted this on the wrong part of the forum but I have never used the forum before but can anyone give me advice.
I have a Sandero (2024 series 111) and I fancied changing the hub caps so I made an appointment with Halfords to have them supplied and fitted but Halfords told me that they can't fit their hub caps because I can only fit Dacia ones.
They said something about Dacia wheels being different.
I am sorry but I don't understand what they meant.
I am 82 years old ( past my sell by date) and not mechanically minded but would be grateful for any advice given.
Thank you in advance
Jack

You more than likely have alluminium wheels and you cannot fit those plastic hubs to alloys I don't think. Having said that if you do have alloys they look much better than any plastic wheel cover.

Hello there Thank you for your prompt reply. As far as I know I have original steel wheels fitted. If I remember correctly Halfords said something about the space between the four spokes. Sorry if I'm talking rubbish and thanks for your answer

Hi there. Any chance you could post a photo of one of your wheels? My son has an earlier Sandero, and I know that the 5-spoke steel wheels have a matching 5-spoke plastic wheel trims fitted. That limits options for other wheel trims, but I'm sure some would fit. Jo

Just a tad difficult to see from that photo but it looks like you already have plastic trims held on by the four wheel nuts. I assume that the cable ties are also holding the trims on so my thoughts on the method of securement might be wrong. I haven't seen many trims held on by the wheel nuts to be honest but if that is the case with those trims then the plastic around the nuts could well have deteriorated necessitating the cable ties to hold them on. If that is the case then the trims fron halfords may well not fit as those are held on with rim clips and that could well mean that only dacia could supply those trims. It could also mean that those wheels are pressed steel wheels made to look like alluminium. Apparenly that is a thing although that would not explain the cable ties.

Sorry for the bad photo. The trims are not held on by the the wheel nuts they are just pushed on and held by clips.
I fitted the cable ties just to make sure that they stayed on if they became loose

Those look similar to my son's, albeit 4 rather than 5 spoke. Your steel wheels are also 4 spoke, so Halfrauds are maybe concerned over e.g. 6 or 8 spoke wheel trims fitting or looking right.

Halfrauds also do multi spoke wheel trims - 12 or so narrow spokes which almost completely hide what's underneath. I've used them on cars before (cheap set to look fresh before sale) without any problems.

Any non-Dacia wheeltrim should fit, so long as the diameter is correct. The centre of the trim will cover the wheel bolts, rather than fit round them.

I've seen several Sanderos with non-standard wheel trims, so its doable - search "dacia sandero wheeltrims" on ebay and you'll see plenty of options.
