Appears to be a software glitch. The dealer has to sort it out.

Even if u enable the speed limit it won't go into limp mode or stall. SL is not RPM limit. U could shift into a lower gear & rev up. If u floor the gas pedal the SL should get deactivated.

 

What is being described is the exact same thing that happened to us when we took the test drive car out. I didn’t realise, but I had accidentally somehow managed to activate the speed limiter. It was my fault. I thought there was something wrong with the car.

Anyway, we’ve had our 2025 mild hybrid since April and neither I nor my Wife have had any issues with accidental activation of the speed limiter. Indeed, our car has so far, been nothing less than exceptional.

 

Has the dealer you purchased the car from taken the time to show you exactly how you have "accidentally" activated the speed limit function and also shown you how to avoid doing so in future?
If not, why not?

 

 

I genuinely can’t remember hiw i activated it at the time. We got in the car without a salesman present, I started it up, mucked about with the controls a bit, set off and then wondered why I couldn’t get past 20mph. I had to pull over and work out how to disable it. After I’d done so, it’s never been a problem since in our own car.

 

Why on earth would any vehicle have a device fitted that, effectively, puts that vehicle into limp mode when there is nothing wrong with the vehicle. That sounds to me as idiotic an idea as building a vehicle with a wet belt system.

 

Yep, it sounds like an accidental speed-limit set. I've done it a few times - at the top of the digital screen you can see the limit that has been set.

 

Thanks for everyone's reply. Yes I took it back to the dealership. They checked things out and no errors or fault. They showed me the accidental triggering of the speed limiter but it shows the speed limiter mph figure which didn't happen either to me or my wife.
DrAlexandertom makes a good point. Engine wouldn't rev when stationary.
I'm going to speak with Dacia again next week so will let you know how I get on.
