Remote locking not working

Hi, tried searching but could not find the answer I need. My remote locking on my 2014 step way is getting intermittent. If I use the car and then use remote to lock, all good. If I leave the car, for say more than a few hours then nothing, this is the same with both keys (and I've put new batteries in to check). Does anyone know if there is a small battery in the car which helps charge the transponder signal from the key. Like I say if I use the car and then get out I can lock car with remote from any distance (on either key), leave it a while though and come back to car and neither key works no matter how close, so I have to use manual door lock in passenger door, and once passenger door open pressing the central dash lock button does nothing so I have to physically go round and unlock all door using internal door handle. Once the car has been used for a while everything back to normal. Main car battery is fine, and never had issues with this. I am presuming that if I unlock passenger door manually, pressing the dash 'lock' button should unlock everything? Any suggestions?

Hi, apologies for delay, I thought this site would email you when someone has replied, clearly not. Thank you Daedalus for letting me know a about the lock button not unlocking the car, when opening the passenger door, things like that really help to eliminate certain things. No, using the remote close to the car even close to passenger side makes no difference. Once car has been running for a bit and remote back up and working I can work the car some distance away and even from inside the house. It's as if the car once running is charging something up connected to the remote and it's only when left for some time that it drains. The problem gradually seems to be getting worse. Apart from main battery in the car and batteries in the fobs I am presuming there is no other backup battery in the car somewhere i.e in the body control module that anyone knows about. Like I say both fob batteries replaced with new and main car battery checked and found to be good.

Hi, just a quick update, it got to the stage that both fobs completely stopped working and I just got used to opening the passenger door. Today I thought I would give things another go and spent a good hour or more in the car trying every combination possible. The good news is I got one of the keys to now work, but bad news is I can't say how I did it,because of all the combinations I can't say exactly which one did it. All I can say is that I was in the car with door shut and engine on and I was trying combinations of pressing the centre dash consule lock button whilst trying fob buttons in the ignition. But it was only after I had removed key and happened to try it then it worked. I then tried with the other key and could not replicate what I had done so that is still not working, but believe me having the one key back up and running is such a bonus. So if anyone has a definitive way of synching the keys please comment, I will keep trying with the other key and let you know any update.
