I have a Dacia Duster purchased four years ago, and from new it has only done 3456 miles. So decided to go on a trip to Spain last week. I had only driven 256 miles into France when the car started to act as if was being driven over unmade roads. Next the electrical light came on, and then warning to stop the engine. Limped into a petrol station on the motorway, from where I was taken to a garage in Alencon. The car had a diagnostic check which said it required a new fuel injector. Had the work done at a cost of 800 euros. Left garage, had only driven 16 miles when the same thing happened again. Back to the garage, only to be told another fuel injector needed replacing, but was advised to change all remaining three, as problem could happen again. This time the cost was 1900 euros. Gave up the idea of going to Spain, as did not trust to car to get us there, let alone get us back to the UK. Have been on to the dealership I got the car from, they promptly passed me over to Dacia, who said as the car was out of warranty it was nothing to do with them.. Again they told me to get in touch with the ombudsman, who in turn suggested the citizens advice. Have written a letter of complaint to Dacia asking why a vehicle with such a low mileage should require 4 new fuel injectors. A week has passed, and Dacia have not had the decency to answer my letter. Is there anyone out there who has experienced this problem with their Dacia Duster?

I had similar experience with Ford Smax 1.6 Ecoboost 18 months ago. It started ‘limping’ with EML on and there was a lot of smoke out the exhaust.
Ford technician said contaminated fuel the most likely cause and replaced the tank pump and all four injectors and it’s been sweet ever since. That cost me £1600 all in (£1K for parts and £600 labour). I tried a claim at the last petrol station I filled up at which was Tesco and as no one else reported an issue, they dismissed it. The dangers of running a car I guess!
Good luck with it!

Our 2022 Dacia duster had the amber check injection amber message come up about a month ago (about a week after its annual service) - took it to the local dealership to be told it’s fine, they had reset the sensor. It came back on the next time we took it out. Took it back to the dealer as we were off to France in the next few days - the said they had ordered us a new sensor but it would be fine to take to France. In France we experienced the check pollution message come on too and loss of power a few times and had a very dodge motorway merge due to loss of power on the M56 on the way home. Back to Dacia - fitted a new sensor but wanting to replace the clutch now! (For 2K and not under warranty!)

after refusing to let them carry on with that they changed their story back to the sensor and that it’s been replaced and is fine (told us clutch was ok with running high as some do(?) but wasn’t concerned about it slipping. We’ve had the car back 1 hour and while on the school run I’ve had check injection come up many times along with stop start activated and Check Hill Start. Why aren’t they mentioning the problem actually being the Fuel Injector, which is what the car is telling us and the symptoms aligning with?? Help! Do I go to another Dacia dealership??
