I have to report that apart from one small spot of rust where the alarm switch was fitted I have had no problems with the paint finash at all.

Jay, have you removed the rubber trim above and around the door frames ? I had no problems until I checked these unseen areas. However, mine must be one of the earliest in the country as an ex demo and 62 reg. hopefully quality control now better but keep a watchful eye if yours is new.

I could suggest buying enough Dacia Forum stickers to cover up the thin/rusty areas to lighten up the mood a bit

like hoggm my duster is on a 62 plate and was one of the original right hand drive demo cars in the country,its in marriane blue[call it black]and for all the issues that others unfortuarently are having and not for looking and checking,l can't find any rust anywhere[looked underneath too].10,000 plus miles,no issues[although no alarm fitted as per protection pack armrest instead!!!].

Im thinking of buying a duster but really concerned with the rust issues. Has it been confirmed that even the latest dusters are still likely to rust or was it just a bad batch?

All i can say is my car (purchased Dec 13) is at the dealership being repaired now. Took a look at a brand new car in the showroom and that has rust on the child locks like mine - put a pic up on the 'do you have a rusty duster' thread. I couldn't look over the rest of the car however so couldn't say what the state of the rest of it was - if i were being optimistic it could be that the doors were part of a different batch maybe??

Late vote, sorry first time I have seen this thread.

To date rust on both rear doors, main shell, rear tail gate and under bonnet. What a crock of _ _ _ _ _ this car is!

Did the other member on her that got a refund and left not get a full refund too????? I'm not the only one my dealer is getting refunds for but I assumed all were 100% like they should be!

I did have some orangey rust like marks under the bonnet on bolt heads, I just wiped it over with ACF50 and its never come back

I had the paint issue with my Duster but must say Dacia were brilliant its all sorted and I am very pleased with the outcome

Just checked our 64 reg Access that we picked up on Wednesday (my wife's car) and we have rust forming between the gutter and b pillar, along the gutters etc, the paint coverage is very poor.

Mine had the paint check and nothing was found. 31000 miles in all weathers and no problems to date.

Maybe, for once, I have been lucky but I am very pleased with my Duster.

I have kept an eye out for rust issues on my Duster (Apr 14) and have never found any after 30.000 miles.

After the Dacia Paint Recall I now have a car with a 3 year paint warranty, 7 year corrosion warranty and, in addition to my manufacturers 3 year warranty, a complimentary extra 2 years, giving a 5 year manufacturers warranty.

I'm not complaining at all.
