Perhaps someone should start a thread, listing the registration numbers of all the rejected Dusters ! ;)

I was told point blank by the sales manager that this is what will be happening to my rejected Duster once they have it returned. The sales manager was so arrogant luckily we are not dealing with him any longer. It feels like a game of pass the lemon, when will they learn.

I have bought vehicles from RRG in the past and even recommended them to family who bought a vehicle from them. When things go wrong is the true test of any business, you sure see a different side!

C D. Were u the first owner then 64 duster ?
Mike CD's Duster was a pre registered vehicle exactly the same as mine but fitted with a different accessory pack that Renault Retail appear to have a batch of them to clear. If you search Autotrader they are between ÂŁ7950 and ÂŁ8500 region you will find quite a few of them.

THE MONEY IS IN THE BANK

Following my chat with the FOS Adjudicator, I have received an email from Mike Hayler (Case Manager) RCI Financial Services Ltd.

My mate Mike informs me that they have been waiting for the manufacturer to refund them the money. However, seeing as the settlement deadline has passed, they ran a quick sponsored bullshit competition which enabled them to raise sufficient funds to pay me in full.

Having checked my account I can confirm that the balance at this point in time is healthy. Mike says, as soon as I confirm the payment they will arrange for NJ63DXY Silver Laureate (5500 miles) to be picked up, how kind.

No great hurry to buy a new car just yet. Just going to savour the moment and enjoy my victory.

TruBrit aka Mr B. :D

Down the pub it is then with your drinking money TruBrit.

Any idea of what you are going to replace NJ63DXY with?

You did well to get the money and still have the car, we were told we could use ours for 2 weeks as we needed use of a vehicle but the refund would only be issued once the car was back at the dealership, which wouldn't help getting a replacement, not even allowed a deposit allowance in advance.

Congratulations Mr B, as you know DSHart is on holiday but I know he will be pleased for you. You'll have to post a photos of your new car when you get it. ( Did you see the BMW hybrid on Top Gear earlier this week? )

I told RCI the car was uninsured and staying on my drive until I was paid.

Thanks Maud.

I like the Ink Blue Qashqai. I get a discount of about ÂŁ3.5k, so I will be giving it some thought.

It will be of an SUV type as I bought Mrs B a CKC spaniel (Rogan), for her birthday. We now have 2 CKC spaniels and 2 Akitas.

Molly & Rogan.

I may be 7500 miles away sitting on my veranda having breakfast in a tropical paradise , watching the whales dive 200m away from me ( jealous yet ) , but I would still like to pass on my 'hartiest' congratulations to you . Hard work and perseverance , with the knowledge you are morally right will always win . No doubt as it seems par for the course now , It will be resold to some poor unfortunate .

Not being an agent provocateur , I hope you have left a little message secreted somewhere, like stuck under a seat or similar with a little history and the forum address. Do not want the new owner to get the wrong impression .

Congratulations again . :)

Haha great idea with the note ;)

Surely there is nothing wrong with a little mobile Geocache, I wonder how much a mobile tracking device costs? The kids would love it.

I was only thinking about doing the same kind of thing. It is only right that the new owner should know the full history of the vehicle. just call it a public service!

Love the dogs TruBrit my grandparents had a Blenheim & Tricolour King Charles spaniels, such lovely dogs.

Can't make up mind want trade in my Mondeo estate that use for towing trailer have stepway but not big enough to pull car trailer was going get duster but not sure nw as of the rust issue meaby wait see how the duster fairs in another 6 months from other factory ????

write it in bold letters in the service book
You mean the bit about the anti corrosion check , FAILED in permanent pen on every page . :)

I would still back it up with hidden messages , as a new service book is available from any good Renault stockists !!!! ( if you can find a good Renault stockist .!!!!!!!!!!!! and the thought of the garage finding one and having to strip the car to find ALL the messages amuses me . :D they might also find all the hidden rust as well !
